The varsity swim & dive team opened its 2017 campaign yesterday with a 100-78 loss to Chelmsford on the road. Despite the loss, the Rangers had many bright spots. Starring for Methuen in her first varsity meet was freshman phenom Kara Davidson who won both the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Senior captain Hannah McKenna grabbed first place in diving with a state qualifying score, while junior Quang Vu won the 200 individual medley. Sophomore Kyra Donahue earned two second place finishes (50 & 100 freestyle), while sophomore Travis Bellemore (diving) and senior captain Lauren Barry (500 freestyle) each earned one. The team competes next on Tuesday (9/12) against North Andover at their home pool at Greater Lawrence Tech.
Good Luck and Go Red-Rangers!!!
