Ranger Nation congratulates Senior Cross Country Captain Domenic Privitera for receiving the Methuen High School S.O.A.R. Award in Science. Department Head Joe Harb presented the Award to Domenic at a recent School Committee Meeting. Mr. Harb says the following when describing Domenic:
The Science Department proudly announces Domenic Privitera as this year’s Science Soar Award recipient. One of the top students in the senior class, Domenic has excelled in honors and advanced placement science courses for four years at Methuen High School. In his sophomore and junior year, Domenic earned a qualifying score of “4” in both AP biology and AP statistics. Most impressively, he earned a top score of “5” on the AP United States history examination. Domenic is a student that continually challenges himself by taking the most rigorous courses available as evidenced by his senior year academic schedule. Furthermore, Domenic is a true leader in our school community, and has been the captain of the cross country team for two years. He is an excellent student athlete and runs both indoor and outdoor track as well as cross country. Domenic is highly involved in his community as an active member of both the Boy Scouts of America and Troop “60 Methuen.” He is a senior patrol leader and is working diligently towards becoming an Eagle Scout. Domenic lists Northeastern, Cornell, Umass Lowell, and UMass Amherst as his top college choices. He intends to major in Civil Engineering.
